We are a bunch of ladies, who wanted to travel on our own. We were recommended AFC by a friend and had initial reservations with going through a travel company. However, our worries were put to rest by AFC Staff, who was the AFC Travel and Leisure consultant for us. AFC staff guided and took us through the entire process of registration and planning for our Armenia tour. Needless to say, it was very professional from the word Go and we would definitely recommend AFC to all our friends and especially, if you are a group venturing outside the country alone for the first time. Once the bookings were done, we eagerly looked forward to the trip. We were received at the Yerevan airport by Sam, who was our tour guide for the trip. He took us to our hotel, which was a very good 4-star hotel in the City Centre. It was within walking distance to most of the shopping areas within the city. We had opted for 2 optional tours on 2 days and it was a wonderful and satisfying experience, travelling to the interior parts of the country, away from the city. We were able to see many of the popular sightseeing spots and Sam did a really efficient job of our tour guide, by taking us through the history and details of the various places we visited. Sam and our driver Levon, were accommodating of our groups’ request to include the ropeway in one of the day tours and we got to experience snow!! However, one suggestion that we would like to make, would be to reduce the number of monasteries on a single day, if it can mean, helping us see one more different type of monument or a local shopping market, which was not part of our initial itinerary. We really wished to see the famous Garni temple, which was not part of this tour. Having an extra day might perhaps have covered that. Sam also ensured we got to visit the local market to get hold onto some souvenirs. The food provided was good throughout the tour, though the vegetarians would have liked more variety. We can say that the planning was so well done by the entire team, that never at any point did we feel any kind of tension. We are definitely looking forward to doing more such trips with AFC!!

Our tour included visits to iconic sites like Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex, Cascade Complex, the ancient Garni temple, Symphony of stones, the stunning Lake Sevan, breathtaking Tsaghkadzor Ropeway, beautiful Jermuk City & Waterfalls, ancient Monasteries of Geghard, Sevanavank, Khor Virap and Noravank, each offering unique insights into Armenia’s history and natural beauty. The highlight of the trip was the warm hospitality of the Armenian people. Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, sharing fascinating stories and local legends that brought each location to life. The food was another standout feature – we indulged in delicious traditional dishes like khorovats (barbecue) and lavash (flatbread), which added an authentic touch to our experience. We also had the opportunity to participate in a wine tasting tour in the Areni region, known for its ancient winemaking traditions. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanour made us feel right at home thereby the entire experience felt like being with family. Overall, our trip was enjoyable and well-organized. Sonya, our tour guide, truly stood out with her extensive knowledge of the places we visited and fantastic food recommendations. Her assistance in translating during our shopping experiences in Armenia was invaluable. While most days were well-planned, the last day felt rushed, making it difficult to cover all planned activities, especially with young children. This aspect could have been better organized. However, the organizers were responsive to unexpected changes, such as road closures, and quickly adjusted our itinerary. One highlight was the opportunity to meet new people and forge new connections during the tour. Thanks to AFC, who consistently responded promptly to my inquiries and was available around the clock.
