Greet your first morning in Tashkent with a sumptuous breakfast at your hotel. Today, you will have the opportunity to spend the day at leisure or join the group for an optional tour of Samarkand (In case the high-speed train is not available, the transfers will replaced by Coach). It can be said that no trip to Uzbekistan is complete without visiting Samarkand, the famous capital of the 14th-century Timurid Empire. This optional excursion starts at the Gur Emir Mausoleum which is the burial site for Timur the Great and is noted for its gold-ornamented detailing. Next is the Registan Square which is Central Asia’s iconic Medieval Architecture site featuring the Ulughbek Madrassa, Madrassa Sherdor, and Madrassa Tilla Kori. Later on, you will go to the Bibi Khanim Mosque which is the largest medieval building in the city, the Shahi Zinda Necropolis awaits a unique complex of Mausoleums, and Ulugbek’s Observatory which is the most advanced astronomical center at its peak.
