Why Paris is the most enthralling city on earth

Paris

Fact: Paris is the most interesting city in the world.
To begin with, we’d like to say that any reason is good for Paris. So, we are really at a loss to figure out good reasons to visit Paris, because there are simply too many. Everything here is a reason enough to visit – even something as simple as biting into a delicious French pastry is good reason enough. With that in mind, let’s round up some of the reasons why you’ll fall in love with the City of Lights. Explore the enchanting allure of Paris with our curated Paris Travel Packages for a romantic and memorable journey.

It’s got the world’s greatest museum

Yes. We are talking about Louvre. Even those who are not inclined to visit museums of art, have The Louvre on their list of things to do in Paris – and with good reason. It is after all one of the few museums with some of the most well-known pieces of art. There are over 35,000 works of art and artifacts on show. Remember Mona Lisa? Yes, we are talking about such pieces of art! Just so that you know – Paris is the best city to see Picasso’s works – there are over five thousand of them – from ceramic, paintings and sculptures.

Paris

Did you know that before The Louvre became a museum, it existed as a castle defending Paris?

It’s heaven for shoppers…

…and not just Champs Elyse – shopping options are spread over the city. The great stores on Boulevard Haussmann like Galéries Lafayette, Printemps etc have the most inspired Christmas window displays in Europe. If you are looking to buy jewelry, then of course, you will head to Place Vendôme or fashions more richly beguiling than on Avenue Montaigne. No one does jewels finer than they do.

It’s the most enthralling city on Earth

Music, culture, history, architecture – Paris has it all. It is said that one visit is not enough to scrape the surface of this city. Paris demands that you visit over and over again till you have seen and felt it under your skin. Now you know why every movie worth its salt has been shot here for decades!

Paris

Because…Disneyland

Well, here there are two parks to explore – Disneyland and the SFX-oriented Parc Walt Disney Studios. This is of course every kid’s dreams (and we swear adults love it as much as the kids) – there is plenty to keep you occupied the whole day. Eat, drink and party here while you explore different zones – Fantasyland, Discoveryland, Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean – and trust us, you won’t run out of stuff to keep you and your young ones occupied.

Paris

Have we mentioned Versailles?

One of the most elaborate chateaus in the world, Versailles Palace has gone through many makeovers, each more elaborate than the other to become what it is today. To say that it is extravagant would be an understatement – it is definitely a mixture of elegance, styles and of course luxury. Commissioned in 1678 by Louis XIV, the palace houses an incredible Hall of Mirrors, well-manicured and elaborate grounds boasting terraces, parterres, lush groves and a spectacular series of fountains, and it’s the site where the famous Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919.

Paris

And of course – Eiffel Tower

One of the most famous structures in the world, the Eiffel Tower (The Iron Lady), was originally erected as a temporary exhibit for a World Fair. But that said, it is one of the most visited attractions in the world. Climb to the top for breath-taking views of the city – you can actually see the whole of Paris.

The café culture

Whatever part of town you’re staying in or passing through, there will be some great coffee to be had. Coffee culture is huge here and in Paris, there is always time for coffee.

Top attractions you don’t want to miss

Notre Dame

A fine example of Gothic architecture, the Notre-Dame, built between 1163 and 1334 must be on your list for sure. After you are done admiring the insides, take a staircase leading to the top of the south tower where the views are utterly breathtaking.

Arce De Triomphe

Buck yourself up for the climb to the top of this magnificent structure. Well, 284 steps (yes) brings you to the top from where you view the splendor between the arc of La Defense and the Louvre.

Paris

Palaise Garnier

A 2,000 seat auditorium which is, to say the least, opulent. From the classical sculptures across the exterior to the mirrors, marble and parquet flooring of the Grand Foyer you see it all.

Galeries Lafayette

So, even if you don’t shop here (just saying), there is every reason to visit Galeries Lafayette – at least to look at its magnificent ceiling. The glass roof is simply jaw-dropping.
