Overview

Experience everything England & Scotland have to offer in a nutshell of 8 days exploring the UK and its many planes. Begin in London with its highly populated fast paced lifestyle, city skyline, a plethora of department stores, extravagant nightlife and popular attractions such as the London Eye and River Thames. This is followed by a drive up North to Manchester, a city little calmer, little friendlier and the football hub of England. A chance to absorb the football fantasia with a visit to Manchester United Stadium. Continue on to the hotspot of nature, the beautiful Lake District of Windermere where you relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere. The tour ends in Edinburgh with a glimpse into their remarkable past and the vibrancy of modern-day touch


Itinerary

Day 1 UAE - London - Guided City Tour

Welcome to London! Begin your holiday with a quick acquaintance with your fellow travellers and tour manager. Proceed to the city for breakfast followed by a 4hrs guided city tour of London.

Cover the prominent sights of London such as the key component of a popular nursery rhyme London Bridge, Hyde Park, Oxford street, Piccadilly Circus and the iconic Big Ben with a photo stop at the Tower Bridge. The tour will also pass by Westminster Abbey where Prince William married Kate Middleton in a grand royal wedding ceremony, Buckingham Palace the official London residence of the Queen. Some time here to pace around the front of the gates. If you’re lucky you may catch the famous Changing of the Guard ceremony (weather & traffic permitting). Next, stop and join in the hustle and bustle that surrounds Nelson’s Column at Trafalgar Square. Then transfer to the hotel for check-in.

The evening is free to explore the city as a Londoner using your provided Oyster Card (top up not included) and riding the tube. Overnight in London.

Day 2 London Eye & 4D Show (River Thames and Madame Tussauds with Lunch - Optional Excursion)

Begin your day with breakfast followed by a visit to the icon of London, the London Eye along with a 4D experience. Later you may join us for the optional excursion of a cruise down River Thames and Madame Tussauds inclusive of lunch or enjoy free time on your own.

A 4 minute long 4D experience is the perfect prologue to the London Eye.The show illustrates the city in a new and inspiring light that is both emotional and entertaining. Then proceed to view London from one of the most stunning spots; the London Eye. A giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of River Thames. With 32 capsules at 135 meters tall, rotating at the speed of 26cm per second, giving you a steady balance to take great snaps of the city. One resolution of the London Eye is 30 minutes. Next, on the optional tour get ready for a breezy cruise at River Thames. Soak in the atmosphere and stunning skyline from the waters making your day in the city one to remember. This is followed by the highly recommended optional visit to Madame Tussauds. The museum features over 300 wax figures of popular movie, music, sports and historic personalities across 14 zones. Added treat for all Marvel Inc. and Star Wars fans. Watch your favourite Marvel heroes come to life in an interactive 4D animation spanning 3 floors. The newly constructed Star Wars theme includes your most loved characters and movie sets in one incredible experience. Gorge on the London specialty fish and chips for lunch.

Follow this up with a drive to Oxford street for free time to do some shopping or why not try the numerous pubs and cafes. Evening dinner followed by transfer to the hotel. Overnight in London.

Day 3 Tower of London, Greenwich & Piccadilly Circus - Optional Excursion

An appetising breakfast buffet is served this morning. Join in on the the optional excursion to Tower of London, Greenwich & free time at Piccadilly Circus or venture out on your own.

Transport back in time into a different facet of London History at The tower of London; the key to the city’s gory royal history. Access to the White Tower, The Coins and Kings Exhibition, The Tower Ravens, The Scaffold Site, The Martin Tower, The Bloody Tower and so much more. Next board a 45-minute cruise to Greenwich, the birthplace of time itself followed by a walking tour. Experience the Prime Meridian the line of longitude defined as 0 degrees.  Explore the Royal Observatory’s historic Flamsteed House, Time Galleries, Meridian Line Courtyard and Meridian Building where scientists initially mapped out the seas and the stars. Stand on 2 hemispheres at the same time at the Prime Meridian Line with one leg on the Eastern and the other on the Western Hemisphere. Observe groundbreaking inventions and the UK’s largest refracting telescope. Additional treats include the planetarium; the only one in London and a chance to touch a 4.5 billion year-old asteroid. Then take the cruise back to Tower of London from where the coach drops you to Piccadilly Circus, one of the liveliest junctions in central London. The Square connect 5 streets serving easy access to the shopping areas, pubs, nightclubs and many other attractions. Later make use of your oyster card and head to the hotel on your own.

Day 4 London - Manchester - Manchester United Stadium

Start your day with a breakfast buffet. Next, checkout from the hotel and gear up for your drive up north to Manchester. Distance covered: 338KM

Manchester engulfs undivided attention from the football lovers being home to two key football clubs Manchester United and Manchester City. But that’s not all; the city offers varied stimulating activities, friendly people, peppy ambiance and a diverse nightlife. This city encourages art and creative expression so much so that the streets regularly display public art through the Outhouse Project. Afternoon arrival to the city of Manchester is further enlightened with a visit to the grand Manchester Stadium. Witness the scenes at Old Trafford through the eyes of Manchester United’s greats. From heights of the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, to the emotion drenched players’ dressing room, every moment will seem to carry the rumble of 76,000 fans – more so as you emerge from the players’ tunnel and follow the footsteps of so many legendary reds.

After the tour proceed to the hotel for your check-in. Dinner is served this evening. Overnight in Manchester.


 

Day 5 Manchester - Windermere Enroute Steam Engine Ride - Lakeside Cruise & English Tea Experience

Dig-in to your breakfast buffet followed by departure to the train station to set off to the abundantly blessed lake district of Windermere. Distance covered: 145KM

Go back in time as you take a 20 minutes ride on a traditional steam engine train from Haverthwaite Station to Lakeside Station. Experience one of the oldest modes of transport started in 1869, the steam engine. Later proceed to the Lakeside pier and board the boat and set off on a 40-minute cruise. Venture out on the open waters of the lake and enjoy the bountiful sceneries of plush greens in the background, the Prussian blue lake dotted with swans blending perfectly with the relaxed ambience. This relaxing outing is completed with a traditional Afternoon Tea experience at the hotel. Sip on English tea or coffee and break into some delectable scones and sandwiches.

Day 6 Windermere - Edinburgh - Guided City Tour & Edinburgh Castle

Begin with the most important meal of the day after which checkout from the hotel and proceed to the capital of Scotland via road. Distance covered: 241KM

Get a real feel of the city on a 4 hrs city tour and discover the seamless blend of medieval charm and vibrant new town that makes Edinburgh. A quick photo stop at Holyrood Palace where Queen Elizabeth spends one week in the beginning of every summer which is also the official residence of British Monarch. Stop at one of the most photogenic spots in Edinburgh, Calton Hill for a sweeping view of the commercial and residential districts in the city followed by Parliament Square. Pass by the main shopping street of Grassmarket, the luxurious and prominent landmark Balmoral Hotel and the centrally connected Waverley Station. Looming over the city skyline is the magnificent Edinburgh Castle one of the top rated and must visit attractions. A visit inside gives a great detail on Scottish history not to mention some spectacular views of the city. Later, proceed to the hotel for your check in.

Free time on your hands in the evening to enjoy the scenic landscapes on your own followed by a delicious dinner before calling it a night. Overnight in Edinburgh.

Day 7 Scottish Highland Tour, Glengoyne Distillery with Lunch – Optional Excursion

Dig in to your breakfast buffet served this morning. Set off on the optional excursion to the breathtaking Scottish Highlands with us for the next 9 hours or enjoy the day on your own.

Start the full day outing to the highlands at the Stirling Castle of Scotland, built in the early 12th Century, another must see on your visit to Scotland. It is the largest and part of Scotland’s most significant history. Continue to Crieff, a small market town popular with tourists, pubs, restaurants and cafés. Enjoy the scenic drive from Crieff to Lochearnhead, a quaint village located on the west end of Loch Earn. Then proceed to Loch Katrine, a 9-mile long freshwater sea inlet, also the water reservoir for most of the towns in Glasgow. Next move to the whisky distillery of Glengoyne founded in 1833 located in north of Glasgow. It’s a unique brand that produces highland single malt whisky. Take a closer look at the whisky distillation process and at the same time learn a lot about whisky. Get a taste of the good stuff before returning to the hotel.

Day 8 Edinburgh – Manchester – UAE
