Day 01: Arrival in Baku

Upon arrival in Baku, meet your guide and the group before transferring to the city. Begin your Baku experience with a 2-hour city tour starting at Upland Park (Nagorny Memorial), offering panoramic views of the city and the Caspian Sea. Continue along Primorsky Boulevard and explore the historic Icheri Sheher, including the iconic Maiden Tower and Shirvanshakh’s Palace. You will also visit Nizami Street, known for its local cafés, restaurants, and shopping opportunities. After the tour, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore Baku, continue shopping, or experience the city’s lively atmosphere. Later transfer to the hotel for checkin. Rest of the day is freetime for leisure. Overnight in Baku.

Day 02: Free Day or Optional Absheron and Old Baku City Tour

Good morning Baku! Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Today, you will have the day free or you may opt to join Absheron and Old Baku City Tour. Your Absheron exploration starts with a visit to the Ateshgah Fire Temple, it is a castle-like religious temple in the Surakhani Town in Baku, this temple is one of the few Hindu temples in Azerbaijan which was unfortunately left desolated due to the dwindling population of Indians in Azerbaijan. Next is the Burning Mountain or Yanar Dag, it is a natural gas fire that is continuously ablaze on a hillside in the Absheron Peninsula on the Caspian Sea near Baku. Another major stop is the Heydar Aliyev Center (photostop from outside) where you can take Instagram worthy photos with the "ILOVEBAKU" icon. Afterward, drive to the Old City of Baku, exploring its ancient city walls and discovering rare monuments recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage sites. Before concluding your day, enjoy a relaxing stroll or a short boat ride through Little Venice, a charming network of canals and bridges that brings a touch of romance to Baku Boulevard. Overnight in Baku.

Day 03: Baku – Shamakhi – Gabala

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Baku and depart for Gabala. En route, visit the historic city of Shamakhi, known for its rich cultural heritage and scenic surroundings. Enjoy a lunch stop at your own expense before continuing the journey to Gabala. Baku was one of the wonderful experiences traveling with AFC holidays since they planned the trip very well from Dubai right until providing us with good tours services. The tour company hired by AFC in Baku was excellent and very prompt with their timings, transportation, airport transfers etc. right up to providing us with personal tours too during our free time. The only disaster was the hotel which was suppose to be 4 stars but we could rate it as 2 star since the amenities were below standards. No proper restaurants for our lunches or dinners and also the offered breakfast was similar on all 3 days we stayed there. Also, room cards had to be activated on a daily basis and also the hotel was located in a very remote, deserted place which was far from restaurants or shopping areas. AFC have always put their best effort to serve their customer but I think customer feedback helps them to serve us better.
