It lies in the Indian Ocean, southwest of the Bay of Bengal, and southeast of the Arabian Sea; it is separated from the Indian subcontinent by the Gulf of Mannar and the Palk Strait.

Arrival in Sri Lanka. You will be met on arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport by our AFC local representative who will assist you with your luggage and guide you to your vehicle. Upon arrival at the hotel check in immediately. This evening will be spent at leisure to unwind and get ready for tomorrow. Overnight in Colombo.

Today, Colombo is a fascinating city - a happy blend of east & west, past & present, with a charm of its own. A less known but amazingly true fact is that Colombo has a superb range of high-quality restaurants serving food from all over the world and some of the best shopping opportunities in Asia. After the city tour, spend some free time in the city for shopping and then return to the hotel. Spend rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight in Colombo.

Good Morning. After morning breakfast today, you can choose to spend free day in Colombo to explore on your own. Overnight in Colombo. OR Join the optional visit to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage with stay in Kandy. If you would like to join the optional tour, board the transfer to Kandy. - 125 Km and drive time approximately 03 Hours. En route visiting PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE – Approx. 55 miles from Colombo, off the Colombo - Kandy road is Pinnawala. Here an orphanage was started in 1975 to house abandoned and wounded elephants. The number of elephants has increased more now including baby elephants brought from various parts, as well as babies born here. The best time to visit is the feeding time from 0915-0945hrs and 1415-1445hrs and the bathing time from 1000-1100hrs and 1500-1600hrs. When all the elephants are taken to the river close by. After the visit, transfer to hotel & check-in and relax. Overnight in Colombo or Kandy.

After breakfast, enjoy another day at leisure to explore Colombo on your own. Overnight in Colombo. In Kandy, join the guide for Kandy City Tour including Arts & Crafts workshop, Oriental Market Place, Bazaar and Gem Lapidary. Kandy is also famous for its shopping, gems and jewelry, handicrafts, batiks, silks etc. And you will have the opportunity of browsing to your heart’s content. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kandy which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The historic city about 480m above sea level surrounded by mountains was known to Sri Lankan as Kanda Uda Rata, which means the hill country. Kandy was home to Sri Lanka's last independent Kingdom, which survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally falling to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century. a panoramic view of the picturesque town from Upper Lake Drive. Overnight stay in Colombo or Kandy.

We travelled to Srilanka in the last week of june. Our trip was very well planned and executed by AFC Travel. Right from the arrival at Colombo Airport our tour guide Mr.Ivwin took us to different parts of Srilnka.We stayed at luxurious Golden crown hotel in Kandy.We had wonderful stay in the hotel which is surrounded by hills. Food quality was exceptionally good and tasty which includes indian and continental food. Nuwara Eliya is the beautiful hill station in srilanka.Driving in rain and foggy condition is itself a challenge. Visiting Bentota island is another pleasant experience. Staying in Granbell hotel at Colombo and watching beautiful arabian sea from the window is another experience which we will not forget. Overall very well planned and executed tour from AFC Holidays. Looking forward to have more and more tours thru AFC holidays.

Holidays in Sri Lanka, Singapore and Bandkok Our holidays and visas were worked out and arranged By AFC holidays. The best thing about AFC is that no matter how many times you need to modify/ change your tour plan, she does it without any hassles and in a professional way. is well informed, courteous and explains the subject very well. The locations planned were pretty good, the hotels and transport were comfortable. But the last day of the itinerary in Colombo did not feel very useful, it could have been reduced to a 5-day trip only.
